I'm not working on any projects right now. I'll post some when I am!.

~D&D adventure in a Pamphlet~

So I've started working on one called 'Castle of the Cryomancer' where you have to sneak into an ice castle and defeat the evil wizard inside. The adventure has been designed to fit inside a 3-fold pamphlet/brochure. They could be used as short adventures.

to fill in sessions when The DM has not created the next part of the campaign. They will be free to download although you can buy physical versions in my shop.

They don't take long to make because they are all done in black & white then printed on coloured paper. They should be adaptable to any system, not just D&D. You could play these with pathfinder, knave, and most other fantasy RPG systems.

Rough coloured cover art

I have created a stat block for the Cryomancer in this adventure. It uses D&D stats but im sure you can adapt it to another game

Cryomancer medium humanoid, lawful evil

STR 9 (-1) DEX 14 (+2) CON 11 (+0) INT 17 (+3) WIS 12 (+1) CHA 11 (+0)

Saving throws: Int +6, WIS +4

The spells are for the DM to choose.

dagger +5 to hit 1d4+2 piercing damage.

~Play By mail games~

I am working on a play by mail RPG. Its a Space-Mecha combat game where you can customise your robot & and battle them.

~S.W.O.R.D.S~

This is a game I am creating at the moment. I don't really know what it is going to be. It will most likely be a CRPG of some sort. SWORDS stands for: super wierd original realistic dungeon simulator

the name is kind of a joke though, as it won't be very realistic. It's a sort of Pop-fantasy theme because it's modern-ish but with magic and that sort of thing. It might make more sense once I write the story.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

the story: In medieval times, our ancestors fought great battles against dragons, trolls and other horrid creatures. Now, centuries later Zordos, the lich king rises alongside his army of monsters wreak havoc again in the modern world!.

But, the monsters are resistant to modern weapons and must be defeated with swords, axes, and magic. The greatest fighters civilization has rise up as heroes and try to destroy the monsters

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

that was all I could think of. Some of the weapons could be like vinyl records used as shields and action figures that could summon a helper. On second thought, It could be a CRPG like D&D with lots of statistics. ʕ•ᴥ•ʔ statistics!.

If i had to pick an art style, It will probably be either hand drawn or pixel/ascii art

Some things I would really want with a physical release are:

This actually started from me saying to my cousin "we should make a game together!". we talk about programming a lot and we somehow never thought to collaborate on a game. (I don't know, He might have) I haven't seen him for a while because He lives in invercargill and New Zealand is currently in lockdown (Covid-19). So I do not know what is happening with our project. This stuff isn't final as i'll run it through with him first and we will change it a bit. We don't really know what each other are doing so it is a bit mysterious about what we are both creating. Last time we talked (early march?) I was going to do most of the programming and art for the game. He might do the box and manual though. I want my brother to help with sound and music stuff because neither I, or my cousin, had experience with that stuff. My brother said he didn't want to, but that's ok. He just won't have his name in the credits (not that it would matter, nobody looks at the credits anyway). This is my 4th or 5th project (i'm not going to put the others on this page. Before I even start creating it on the computer, I'm going to create a tabletop RPG based on it, tweak the rules, then get the game to run on a computer and develop from there. This is the stat card that I want to use.

I thought you could select a character and check their stats and moves. Each character has an element which adds a pokemon style strength/weakness thing. The ones I have thought of are: fire, Water, Leaf, Lightning, Wind, Earth, Null, Psychic. They are pretty generic but I guess they are easy to understand. Each character can have up to 4 moves + magic spells. The class will determine what moves it can have. The stat card was done in REXpaint for ascii graphics. I don't know If i will use the ascii graphics or even the layout for the card. pretty much the whole Idea is to get our very own tabletop RPG onto the computer. I don't know how long it will take, but I will make sure to finish it eventually (unlike some other projects). I am going to release the tabletop game separatly so if i can't finish the game for any reason I at least have some kind of game made. If you end up purchasing it, I would LOVE some feedback on it so I know how I can improve it. This will help me figure out the computerised versions rules and system. It will be tricky but I will try to finish it at some point. the rules system is easy enough as it is pretty much just a bunch of equations and formulae to work out damage and other things and display it in a text log. Some other stuff is just using simple triggers for stuff to happen which would probably make the world look a bit empty and dead while if I used more realtime stuff it would make it look more alive and active. even simple animations like the water moving would help make it seem like it is an actual world and have things going on inside of it.

CompuDungeon!

It's like a position/condition/status tracker for D&D that runs on late 70s-early 80s computers. For example, Apple ][, TRS-80, and (maybe) IBM PC XT. It would sort of be a turn based system where each command entered make time go forward. This would help with poison, spells, and other conditions. The layout of the screen will be (at this point) command line at the bottom of the screen, grid in the top left corner for position tracking, and an initiative order list for each creature on the map. If I come up with anymore ideas, Ctrl+S will be used to change screens. On apple ][ It will work in low resolution mode for 16 colours, or If I don't end up using that many, high resolution mode for 6 colours. Maybe you could swap modes whenever you want so you could use text mode for monochrome monitors. On TRS-80 it will be monochrome and for IBM PC XT it will monochrome or CGA. Distributing it on Floppy disks would be quite tricky and expensive, so It might be something that gets uploaded onto BBS File pages so it can be shared around the internet. Or a license that BBS users could pay for to have a downloadable version on their BBS, though that would make it prone to copying. Although, A competition or Limited Pre-order thing could be distributed on floppy disks so they will be super rare. (not that anyone will care...) :( . The problem Is that I do not have an Apple ][, TRS-80, IBM PC XT, or VIC-20. I might try to obtain one though.UPDATE! I have a MS-DOS computer so I can make an IBM compatible version. If you have an Apple ][, TRS-80, or a VIC-20 please email me if you want to test it. I can program everything in an emulator but I would like to know If it works well on a real machine. If you have an SD card disk drive emulator please write that in the email, If you have one I will send you the program file. If you do not have one, I will give you a text file you can type in. If you playtest, You will get a free personal GOLD digital licence for your help. I really want to add an easter egg of some kind (I'm not telling you though). It might push the limits of some systems, especially the VIC-20, TRS-80, Apple 2, but I want the DM to be able to make a Dungeon map within the software and save it to a disk or cassette for during the session. Because most of the systems I will develop for start with about 4K of RAM. I want to Be very clever with RAM use because I don't want to have to load multiple disks or have to have any upgrades. I could make use of memory expansion cartridges on the VIC-20 or maybe TRS-80 but thats another thing the user will have to own. If I can fit in a Built in map editor, there could be a mini-map in the corner of the whole dungeon and a 3x3 (or 4x4) grid showing the close up version of the area you are looking at. In that case, depending on RAM character movement might be tricky with the limited amount of RAM or something. but if I just make it a mapping tool for DM's, It could just be for trap and loot positions. I might be able to fit it in. I've seen some games for the same computers made recently-ish like Nox Archaist. It seems you can fit quite a bit into the small amount of space. The prices for licenses are on my shop page but I'm not yet taking orders. I'm thinking of making it in text mode to save RAM and have more space on the screen for your map. I made a mockup version out of paper and a zip-loc bag. I don't actually have any disks so I made a fake paper one. Also the images aren't great because they were taken on my laptop camera, I might try get a clearer shot later. Inside the bag and Out of the bag (instructions aren't in this one). I'm going to put the gold versions in zip-loc bags and use photocopied paper to reduce packaging costs. I'm also thinking of packaging the VIC-20 and TRS-80 versions together because they are cheap enough to just package 2 data cassettes in one bag. Here is a 5.25" disk label, which you can print off. it has been drawn on a digital canvas and should have the exact measurements of the standard long disk label. It was a bit big to have it display here. That one is for the apple ][ and you will be able to download all of the labels from the file page. I don't know if it will require 16k of RAM for apple ][ but I thought I would just put it there because I feel like I might need a lot more than 4k.

D&D Peasant class

My brother told me to make it. He said it should have increased carrying weight so you can just carry stuff. They don't have any weapon proficiencies but are proficient in simple things such as farming, mining, or fishing. I'll link a text file because it may take up quite a lot of room on the page and I only have 1GB (which is really precious).

Dungeon Format

Once again, another D&D focused project. this one is not necessarily for vintage computer systems, but would be very nice to have a version for one, So if all goes well I might make one. It's basically a text editor that helps format a D&D adventure. The main challenge will be adding maps and stuff, because I want to use the mouse as little as possible. It would help make proffesional looking D&D modules that you can print off easily on your printer. I might include it in a software bundle that includes some sort of session plan/calender thing for a DM.

Telnet BBS Thing!

Ghost Chess

Making a Chess computer. Well, It's going to run off a raspberry pi zero and run stockfish chess engine. Having an Alphanumerical display would be ok, because it only has to display 4 digit algebraic numbers to show what piece moves to what piece. for a design, It will likely be a sandwich type construction with components in the middle, and laser cut wooden panels on the front and back. It will work with a standard 8x8 chess board. I call it ghost chess because you can play by yourself and just do what the computer tells you to do. I think it would be fun to use because nobody ever wants to play chess with me. :(. If it ends up cheap enough I might put an OLED screen in instead of the alphanumeric one because I can display graphics of the board and maybe some cool animations for check and checkmate.

VR Desk

Making a VR desk you can work at would be fun. It could be like remote desktop but if you could have a desk as well so you can write and draw on virtual paper. It would be only for portable VR like oculus quest and go. This is because there is no point using a rift or vive to remote desktop because you already have to connect to you computer anyway. You could also customise your desk by changing how it looks and what is on it. It would also be cool to have a tiny game that would play ontop of the desk with little people walking around on it.
